Key responsibilities
- Preparing year‑end accounts for a range of clients
- Assisting with and participating in audit assignments
- Producing management accounts for owner‑managed businesses
- Drafting corporation tax computations for limited companies, with support where needed
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information
- Keeping managers and directors updated on assignment progress and deadlines
- Supporting junior team members, particularly with bookkeeping and VAT‑related tasks
- Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and to a high technical standard
Essential
- 3 to 5 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong accounts preparation experience
- Good technical ability and a solid understanding of core accounting principles
- Some audit exposure gained within practice
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client‑focused approach
- Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines with minimal supervision
Desirable
- Near‑qualified or recently qualified ACA or ACCA
- Experience using CCH Accounts Preparation
- Exposure to cloud accounting software
- Experience drafting basic corporation tax computations
