A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Aylesbury Vale is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its friendly, professional team. This is a hands-on role offering varied client exposure, autonomy, and clear scope to progress as the practice continues to expand. The Role
Working with a diverse portfolio of SME clients, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounts and tax work, supporting clients day-to-day, and helping to maintain excellent service standards across the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Producing and reviewing management accounts
- Preparing corporate and personal tax returns
- Supporting VAT returns and bookkeeping work where needed
- Liaising directly with clients, answering queries and providing guidance
- Reviewing work and supporting/mentoring junior team members
- Assisting with practice improvements and helping drive efficiencies
About You
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent); QBE also considered
- 3+ years accountancy practice experience (essential)
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
- Experience using Xero (essential); exposure to QuickBooks/Sage is beneficial
- Confident communication skills and a client-focused approach
- A proactive, organised working style
Salary & Benefits
£40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience. Bonus available. Hybrid working available after probation.
