The role
You’ll support a mixed portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, partnerships and sole traders, working closely with Seniors and Managers. You’ll take ownership of your work, build your technical confidence, and develop the skills needed to step into a more senior client‑facing position over time.
Typical responsibilities
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Producing corporation tax computations and returns (with review/support)
- Assisting with personal tax returns for directors and individuals
- Bookkeeping support and reconciliations using cloud accounting software
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting compliance deadlines
- Working directly with clients for routine queries and information requests
- Supporting and mentoring juniors where appropriate
- Liaising with Seniors/Managers to ensure smooth delivery and quality
What we’re looking for
- Experience in an accountancy practice
- Strong accounts preparation skills and confidence working to deadlines
- Comfortable with basic tax compliance (corporation tax and/or personal tax)
- Competent with cloud accounting software and Excel
- Studying AAT / ACA / ACCA (or qualified by experience with the right background)
