Ready to take the next step in your practice career with a genuine path to progress, not just more of the same? We're working with a fast-growing, forward-thinking accountancy practice in the Milton Keynes area that's looking to add an ambitious Semi-Senior Accountant to its team. This is a role for someone who already has their grounding in UK practice and now wants broader client exposure, real responsibility, and an employer that will actively invest in their development.
You'll manage a varied portfolio, working across accounts, tax and advisory rather than being boxed into one narrow function. You'll build trusted relationships with clients, support them throughout the year, and have the technical and study support behind you to keep moving forward.
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for a varied client portfolio, building strong long-term relationships
- Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts across a range of clients
- Handling accounting and tax queries as they arise
- Preparing Corporation Tax, Self-Assessment and P11D returns
- Flagging tax planning and business improvement opportunities as you spot them
- Supporting managers on advisory projects while keeping multiple jobs on deadline
What you'll bring:
- Strong experience with cloud accounting software, ideally Xero
- At least 3 years in a UK accountancy practice
- AAT qualified and studying towards ACCA or ACA
- A proactive, self-starting approach and confidence dealing with clients
- Sharp attention to detail and well-organised under competing deadlines
What's on offer: £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience, plus a strong package: full study support, annual bonus, flexitime and hybrid working, a generous holiday allowance, enhanced pension, private healthcare, paid professional subscriptions, and genuine progression in a rapidly growing firm.
