Due to continued commercial success, EPS is looking to recruit a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join its growing Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate Electrical Engineer to join this highly respected consultancy team. The team delivers leading-edge technical consultancy in the areas of Power Systems Analysis, Arc Flash and Electrical Engineering. The base location will be at our Teesside regional office; but may rarely require UK travel to customers in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Manufacturing and Energy sectors.

The successful candidate will work closely with and alongside our Lead Electrical Engineer who will provide training, support, and guidance as required. This includes formal training to get you up to speed with power system modelling software ETAP, DIgSilent, and CDEGs. The EPS graduate scheme provides an ideal opportunity to gain valuable skills and engineering experience to complement formal qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Duties

As an EPS graduate, you will actively contribute to Engineering Power Solutions’ growth plan by building and nurturing strong client relationships. Your day-to-day duties will revolve around working autonomously and as a team, assisting our senior electrical engineers across different energy projects. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Conducting electrical design and producing electrical specifications and datasheets for LV and HV assets.
  • Developing your skills in power system modelling software, ETAP.
  • Gaining experience undertaking many different power system studies, such as load flow and short circuit analysis, protection coordination, transient motor starting, and arc flash studies.
  • Joining EPS engineers during site surveys to conduct soil resistivity testing.
  • Scoping and interpreting client requirements to prepare and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Liaising with clients regularly; providing project updates and producing high-quality technical reports.
  • Preparation of commercial and technical proposals.
Experience & Qualifications

A firm knowledge and passion for all things electrical engineering is preferred. However, comprehensive mentoring will be provided to successful candidates by senior engineers. Knowledge and understanding of onshore and offshore electrical engineering for either Oil & Gas, power distribution, wind energy, manufacturing and petrochemical industries is preferred; however, experience will be gained during the EPS mentoring program. Proficient in the use of spreadsheets for calculation and analysis. The ability to solve problems and the confidence to support clients on behalf of a world-class engineering consultancy. A minimum of 2.1 Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from a recognised and relevant university. Experience using complex power system modelling software would be an advantage.
