This position will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure the reliable supply of parts and services that meet specification, cost, quality, and delivery expectations. You will play an active role in developing our supply base, implementing ERP best practice, and supporting the wider supply chain function as required. This role reports to the Head of Supply Chain based in Coventry.

- Manage RFQs and Purchase Orders in line with commercial and technical requirements.
- Identify cost savings through supplier selection and negotiation.
- Expedite and manage open orders to ensure delivery is aligned with production schedules.
- Conduct supplier sourcing and benchmarking activities, including identification of new suppliers where required.
- Ensure purchased items meet all relevant drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
- Support Quality and Engineering with supplier queries, deviations, and issue resolution.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and contribute to improvement activities.
Technical & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate closely with Engineering on change management, new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and cost-down activities.
- Contribute to supplier readiness activities for prototype and volume manufacturing phases.
ERP, Process & Operational Support
- Maintain ERP master data, including supplier details, lead times, pricing, and order management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement and ERP workflows.
- Flexibly support wider supply chain operations as needed (e.g., booking in parts, organising shipments, ad-hoc purchasing, logistics support).
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier communication, and purchase order management.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, BoMs, and specifications (or a strong desire to learn).
- Solid understanding of lead times, material availability challenges, and supply chain fundamentals.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment.
- Confident communicator who can build relationships across suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (any platform).
- Exposure to ERP rollout and improvement projects.
- Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Understanding of quality processes such as FAIs, NCRs, deviations, or PPAP.
