We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our friendly and supportive Fleet Operations Team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out MOTs, servicing and repairs to the council\’s fleet of light commercial vehicles and cars, as well as providing repairs and servicing for public vehicles (including MOT failures, tyre replacements and air conditioning servicing). This role offers plenty of training opportunities to help you develop your skills and stay up to date with the latest vehicle technologies. You’ll work within a supportive environment, part of a friendly, small team committed to delivering the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Positively contribute to the success of the Fleet Operations Team, supporting the overall goals of the organisation.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all council services and external partners.
- Manage MOT payments, book vehicles in for servicing and repairs, and order necessary vehicle parts.
- Carry out vehicle maintenance on various types of motor vehicles, including taxis and plant, in compliance with DVSA regulations and Health & Safety guidelines.
