The Opportunity We’re hiring a Platform Engineer (IC4 Mid Level) to join our core platform team in Norwich. This team is modernising our infrastructure and developer platform to enable faster, safer delivery across the business. Expect high-impact work on scalability, reliability, and developer productivity. What you’ll do Design, build, and operate core platform services on AWS, leveraging Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions to enable secure, scalable delivery. Lead and contribute to infrastructure-as-code, platform APIs, observability, and runtime tooling (Go/Node.js) that improve reliability and time-to-market. Drive best practices in CI/CD, security, cost optimisation, and performance; reduce toil through automation and self-service. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define standards, guide architecture, and support migrations to modern platform patterns. Own services end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and post-incident review. Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture. Success looks like (KPIs) Consistently achieves an average score of 3+ for Delivery every 6 months. Consistently achieves an average score of 3+ for Communication every 6 months. Consistently achieves an average score of 3+ for Sharing Monday to Friday, core hours between 8am–6pm. Full-time, permanent. Compensation and benefits Salary: £32,000–£40,000 (GBP), plus standard benefits.
