As the scientific lead for assay development, you will drive the development and optimisation of highly sensitive quantitative assays from concept through validation and commercial readiness. Working at the intersection of diagnostics, biotechnology, engineering, and clinical science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's scientific direction and future product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Lead development of quantitative immunoassays and biomarker detection technologies
- Design and execute assay optimisation and validation studies
- Drive improvements in sensitivity, precision, reproducibility, and stability
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, clinical, regulatory, and external partners
- Ensure scientific rigor, data integrity, and regulatory‑compliant documentation
- Help build and mentor a high‑performing scientific team
- Contribute to long‑term scientific strategy and innovation initiatives
- PhD in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Bioengineering, or related field
- Industry experience in assay development, diagnostics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life science sectors
- Strong expertise in immunoassay development (ELISA experience essential)
- Experience translating laboratory assays into commercial or point‑of‑care diagnostic platforms
- Proven success developing assays through validation and product development milestones
- Experience working with biological samples and highly sensitive analytical methods
- Strong statistical, experimental design, and data analysis capabilities
