As our Business Development Manager, you’ll work across teams, customers, and partners to unlock new opportunities, strengthen our consumables focus, and make a real impact on our regional strategy. You will join a committed and collaborative team that works closely across divisions, customers, and partners to drive growth in Rock Drilling Tools and strengthen our “One Epiroc” approach.
Your mission: As Business Development Manager, Rock Drilling Tools for the UK & Ireland, you will lead the development and execution of the local Tools strategy based on regional priorities. You collaborate closely with sales teams and customers, ensuring that tools become a natural, confident, and value‑adding part of the national business. In this role, you will:
- Translate the regional Tools strategy into a local plan with targets, milestones, and regular performance follow-up.
- Lead, inspire, and support the local sales teams to drive profitable growth and increase focus on tools and consumables.
- Prepare major tools quotations (bits, hammers, pipes and bolts) and support the sales team in securing large contracts.
- Build strong relationships with the national sales organization and collaborate with the Business Line Manager on pricing strategy.
- Develop the direct vs. indirect sales strategy together with the national sales manager, and support indirect partners until a dedicated manager is appointed.
- Act as the local Tools lead partner, providing product expertise and supporting stock levels, lead‑time questions, and supply‑chain processes.
- Conduct customer visits, support product introductions, and lead rock drilling tools product trials – ensuring documentation in Salesforce and appropriate reporting.
This role requires travel across the territory.
Your profile: You are a relationship‑builder who enjoys developing business and supporting teams. You thrive in a dynamic environment, work well with multiple projects at once, and bring ideas that move the business forward. To succeed in this role, you bring:
- Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably within construction or mining equipment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer‑relationship skills.
- A structured, goal‑oriented, and self‑driven approach, with the ability to work independently as well in a team.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or marketing – or equivalent experience.
- Experience from drilling environment is an advantage.
This position is located in Hemel Hempstead, UK. Regular travel across the UK & Ireland is required.
