Overview
In this Product Engineer role, you’ll craft the frontend experience for legal AI within a trusted, enterprise-grade environment. You’ll blend product thinking with hands-on engineering to shape interfaces, workflows, and system design for AI-powered retrieval and agents. Collaborating with lawyers and knowledge teams, you’ll bring complex AI capabilities into practical, explainable tools integrated into existing workflows. You’ll work primarily with React and TypeScript to deliver polished, secure experiences at scale. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and legal practice, offering meaningful impact in transforming how firms use AI.

Responsibilities
- Build modern React and TypeScript applications with strong component design and quality UX
- Shape product experience by challenging unclear requirements and simplifying workflows
- Understand lawyer workflows to integrate AI into familiar processes
- Turn AI retrieval into trusted UX with citations, previews, and metadata
- Work across system layers (UI, API, retrieval, permissions, workflows) to fit into enterprise environments
Key requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript
- Experience building component-based apps and working with APIs
- Understanding of authentication flows, permissions, accessibility, testing, CI/CD
- Familiarity with tools such as React Query, Zustand/Redux, Tailwind/Fluent UI/Material UI, Vite/Next.js
- Experience will add value with Azure AI/OpenAI, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, iManage or similar
- Minimum 7 years of experience in consulting or related field
- Willingness to learn AI concepts like retrieval, citations, agents and RAG systems
- Product thinking and curiosity
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort with ambiguity and forming a point of view
