We are actively seeking a Compliance Officer to support our client, one of the UK’s leading homebuilders, on an interim basis.
Qualifications and skills:
- 1-5+ years of prior experience working within a Compliance function.
- Hands-on experience supporting Compliance processes, including SAR preparation.
- A relevant Compliance qualification (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while balancing competing priorities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrates respect for and alignment with company culture and values.
- Approaches work in a structured, organised, and methodical manner.
- Proven ability to collaborate closely with key stakeholders and build effective working relationships at all levels of an organization.
- Able to identify potential issues and propose constructive improvements where appropriate.
- Prior exposure to high-risk clients, sanctions screening, and PEPs.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with our client’s Compliance Officer to support their Data Protection and Money Laundering Officers.
- Assist the Group and Deputy MLRO and Group and Deputy DPM in developing and maintaining the annual compliance programme of the client.
- Undertake Compliance Monitoring Reviews across a range of Compliance topics to provide second line of defence assurance, including scoping, testing and reporting on outcomes.
- Provide ad hoc support and guidance across the organisation on Compliance topics to create a culture of compliance at the client.
- Perform Compliance tasks such as the production of SARs, AML reviews and referrals, and other Financial Crime and Data Privacy checks.
- Undertake reviews of the Compliance policy framework, ensuring that policies remain accurate and up to date.
- Perform and communicate regulatory horizon scanning to ensure client remains up to date with regulatory changes.
- Support client in the understanding and development of Compliance risks and controls across the organisation.
- Undertake ongoing AML/Sanctions screening and manage the ongoing monitoring required by policy.
- Provide advice on PEPs and sanctions as required.
- Keep Compliance training up to date.
- Report on key KPIs and KRIs to the Compliance Management team.
- Support in the production of reporting for Compliance governance forums.
