Be part of something extraordinary at Epilepsy Society. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Activities Lead to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate who is seeking to make a meaningful impact. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our care services team in a charity that provides world leading support for people with epilepsy through Care, Research and Advocacy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and person-centred Activities Lead to shape and deliver an exceptional programme of therapeutic, social, and educational activities for people living in our homes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving quality of life and driving positive outcomes for the people we support. As our organisational Activities Lead, you will plan, develop, and deliver activities that empower individuals to lead the best life possible. You will oversee our activity hub, ensuring structured environments, accessible resources, and opportunities for personal growth. Your work will champion independence, inclusion, and meaningful engagement. You will play a key role in designing approaches that use visual aids, community participation, and tailored support to enable people to thrive. This role is central to embedding high-quality, person-centred initiatives across the organisation.

Activity Planning & Delivery

  • Develop diverse, engaging, and person-centred timetables (group and 1:1) tailored to individual strengths, needs, and preferences.
  • Create imaginative sessions across areas such as arts, crafts, drama, sensory activities, community participation, and life skills.
  • Support individuals to engage in everyday tasks - cooking, household activities, shopping, or hobbies - to build confidence, autonomy, and skills.
  • Support, engage and role model to our support teams to develop their skills, inspire, and encourage them to be able to support the people in our homes to do more and engage person-centred principles and outcomes in activity provision.
  • Keep a strong outcome-focused mindset and work collaboratively towards shared goals.
  • Use structured, meaningful activity to reduce episodes of distressed or challenging behaviour.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing through routine, purpose, and positive engagement.

About You

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in supporting people with complex needs including learning disabilities and autism.
  • Creative, energetic, and passionate about improving lives.
  • Skilled in planning and facilitating meaningful activities.
  • Committed to person-centred care and inclusion.
  • Able to build strong, respectful relationships with the people we support and staff teams.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and confident in managing multiple priorities.

The recruitment process: Telephone interviews will be held on the 5th and 6th May with our Business Development Manager. This will be a chance for us to get to know you better and an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the role. Face to face, onsite interviews to be held W/C 11th May.
