EPIC Investment Partners (“EPIC”) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Executive (Analyst) to join its London team within its private equity and corporate finance business lines. EPIC is a privately-owned, fast growing investment firm with 250 employees across four business lines: i.) Capital, ii.) Administration, iii.) Advisory and iv.) Markets. EPIC invests in private equity opportunities with a target size of up to £30 million and advises on corporate finance transactions with a target size of £50 million to £1 billion.

EPIC is unique in offering cross-disciplinary experience to junior employees by providing them with significant exposure to deal origination, execution and client interaction across private equity, corporate finance and fund placement transactions. Responsibilities

  • Supporting the origination of investment opportunities, corporate finance and fund placement mandates
  • Market analysis and assessments of selected sectors and companies
  • Significant contact with potential investee companies, portfolio companies and corporate and fund clients
  • Supporting sector-focused marketing initiatives
  • Planning and implementation of portfolio company projects e.g. bolt-on acquisitions, new market entry
  • Building detailed financial models, incorporating operational and cash flow forecasts
  • Performing valuation analyses, including comparable transaction and public company, discounted cash flow and leveraged buy-out models
  • Identification of potential investors and buyers
  • Supporting the execution of principal investments and third-party corporate finance and fund placement mandates, including supporting on day-to-day project management
  • Drafting of internal transaction review documentation and transaction marketing documentation
  • Supporting specific EPIC and EPE Special Opportunities Limited (listed private equity fund) projects

Skills and Experience

  • Approximately two years prior experience as an Analyst or equivalent position in investment banking, corporate finance, transaction services, consultancy, accounting or private equity
  • Strong academic credentials (minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent) from a top tier university or business school plus a strong mathematical background at A-level and beyond
  • Analytical mindset, combining both quantitative and qualitative skills
  • Experience in financial modelling and valuation techniques
  • Prior experience in data analytics (SQL, Python, Stata, R, BI) or due diligence is desirable but not essential
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication and networking skills, with proven ability to establish effective relationships and to work well within a team
  • The ideal candidate will have had experience of working in a project-based environment with tight deadlines and of consistently delivering to client expectations
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

EPIC Adventures can invest up to £2 million initially, providing meaningful institutional capital and support for businesses too early for Series A venture capital investment.

Administration provides accounting and administration services to companies in the financial services and property sectors, family offices, charities and publicly listed companies. It comprises a qualified team of accountants and administrators delivering a global service offering from London, New Delhi, Guernsey and Ireland. Total assets under administration exceed £3.0 billion.

Markets has an experienced team and an established track record, offering fixed income and a diversified range of equity, alternative and multi-asset funds.

EPIC’s Advisory business line has broad capabilities. Advisory services include UK and cross-border M&A, capital raising, restructuring, and management advisory and aligns with the sector focus of Capital. Placement provides specialist advice to institutions and General Partners on all aspects of investment vehicle funding through primary and secondary transactions.
