About the job

The role is primarily responsible for generating leads related to new and existing clients. As Business Development Coordinator - Renewable Energy, you will be responsible for expanding the EPI Group's footprint in the renewable energy industry, delivering revenue growth in the European region. Initially, the focus will be on the offshore wind market, but over time, this will expand to include a range of renewable and low-carbon energy technologies. Our current renewables business primarily secures contracts for the supply of site investigation project management, geotechnical and geophysical services, offshore client representatives, environmental consultancy, and personnel, as well as QHSE consulting services. Secondary services include UXO risk mitigation and the recruitment of qualified personnel for projects. Your direct line manager will be EPIs Director of Offshore Wind UK & Europe, shadowing them for guidance and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be instrumental in delivering EPI’s European offshore renewable sales and business development strategy as defined by the Director of Offshore Wind UK & Europe.
  • Cultivate long-term client relationships and account management for the region.
  • Actively engage with potential clients via meetings, industry events, telephone calls and email to make them aware of EPI’s services and the Company’s positive track record to drive regional sales that meet the company’s commercial objectives for profit and margin.
  • Learn and develop knowledge of the market to educate and mentor other EPI employees.
  • Work in partnership with EPI’s clients to create value through service excellence.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with clients and partners to promote EPI’s services.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and provide advice and intelligence that will help EPI create a winning proposal.
  • Register the company on supply chain portals and vending sites of future clients as requested.
  • Ensure that the CRM system is kept up-to-date and key regional management reporting data for sales is available in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a projects-focused pipeline to be able to track current projects.
  • Attend relevant trade shows, with focus on environmental and offshore wind services.
  • Help develop relevant sales and marketing materials consistent with the EPI brand.
  • Feedback ideas for new products and markets, using ideas gained from clients and consultant feedback.
  • Support wider company marketing (news articles, blogs etc.), internal/external communications and internal training programs.
  • Represent EPI in a manner that aligns to the core integrity of the business by working in a compliant, honest and ethical manner, showing respect to all those with whom you work both peers and clients.

General Responsibilities:

  • QHSE
    Deliver KPIs and objectives that are relevant to Sales and Marketing. Support clear high-quality communication to stakeholders. Actively participate in EPI’s QHSE programs.
  • Personnel
    Articulate the company's value proposition to potential clients, partners, and potential recruits. Continuously develop personal industry knowledge and share insights with the team.
  • Financial
    Ensure precision of territory and client opportunity data in Salesforce/Kimble systems. Structure commercial relationships and contracts to maximise value and protect EPI. Provide regular sales pipeline and lead status updates through meetings and calls. Monitor and report on key financial metrics, recommending strategies for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental / ocean sciences, engineering, renewable energy technology or related discipline, else demonstrable capabilities at this level. A master’s Degree is an advantage.
  • Ideally, experience in offshore energy (geoscience/environmental surveying, permitting, project development, construction, asset management, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with standard industry software tools (e.g. Microsoft Office suite).
  • Fluent (written & spoken) in business-level English, other European languages are an advantage.
