The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
As a Wireperson, you should have a strong understanding of electrical systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and instructions. Knowledge of electronic basics is key. Integration of components and PCBs in manufacturing along with wiring assembly and the ability to read assembly drawings.
Accountabilities:
- Carry out the wiring on electronic assemblies using predetermined programs and works orders, detailed work instructions or drawings to the required company standard and/or programme standards. Work must be completed to an acceptable quality level, as defined by these standards, with the minimum of rejects at inspection.
- Inspect and test completed assemblies as required.
- Cuts, strips, and terminates wires to connectors and electrical units.
- Work on your own initiative and with minimum supervision.
- Follow production drawings and sample assemblies or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Be highly proficient in prototype wiring, crimping, and soldering.
- Assist the production team as required on all build projects.
- Work alongside the team and address any issues and improvements.
- Notify errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and routes to the support teams (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering).
Skills/Knowledge/Tools
- Experience:
- Excellent soldering and workmanship standards to meet the requirements of the defence sector.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills paying particular attention to detail.
- Knowledge of tools and instruments of the wiring trade.
- Ability to work with some supervision.
- Required: 2 yearsβ experience of wiring.
- Electronic experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Cable manufacture and looming.
- Electrical wiring knowledge.
- Experience of working to deadlines with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Ability to build working relationships quickly and effectively across all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to communicate effectively to senior staff/managers.
- Willingness to learn and adapt as tasks require.
