Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician specialised in servicing and maintaining grease traps.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of grease traps, primarily in commercial establishments such as restaurants, hotels, and food processing facilities.

This role involves working, away from home, including weekends, and on‑call shifts.

You will be provided with a company vehicle, tools, and full training.

As this role includes frequent independent work, it is essential that any potential candidate is confident working alone, and can always maintain a responsible, reliable attitude toward any given job.

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and cleaning of grease traps in various commercial establishments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues or malfunctions with grease traps and associated plumbing systems.
  • Conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, including after‑hours and weekends.
  • Utilise company‑provided van to travel to different job sites (private use not permitted).
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including completed work orders and inventory usage.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Attend customer sites, inform customers of arrival, and identify grease trap systems.
  • Key Requirements
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable with foul odours commonly associated with grease traps and faulty plumbing.
  • Flexibility to travel to various locations and work overtime as needed.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
  • Possession of a valid, clean driving license for at least 2 years.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, plumbing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
