We're looking for a Director, Applied AI Transformation – Energy & Utilities to join our team across multiple European locations in a hybrid or remote working mode. You will lead enterprise-scale agentic transformation across business and IT for global energy and utilities organizations. Acting as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, you will drive the design, deployment and adoption of AI and agentic solutions that deliver measurable business impact in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute applied AI and agentic transformation strategies for energy and utilities clients
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to C-suite executives on AI adoption and digital transformation
  • Lead account-facing presales activities including shaping opportunities and building business cases
  • Facilitate workshops to co-create actionable AI use cases aligned to client objectives
  • Drive enterprise AI adoption by identifying high-value scenarios and leading change management
  • Lead cross-functional teams delivering AI and agentic solutions from concept to production
  • Maintain hands-on expertise with large language models, multi-agent platforms and AI ecosystems across major labs and hyperscalers
  • Champion enterprise-scale solutions ensuring scalability, compliance and security standards
  • Build and mentor EPAM and client teams to scale applied AI delivery capabilities
  • Monitor market trends and evangelize EPAM’s leadership in applied AI for energy and utilities

Requirements

  • 10+ years in energy and utilities with experience leading transformation or large-scale technology programs
  • Deep understanding of energy sector regulations, HSE requirements and operational processes across trading, generation, grid and asset management
  • Proven experience advising senior executives on AI adoption and innovation strategies
  • Applied experience with AI including large language models, multi-agent systems and RAG frameworks
  • Familiarity with leading AI labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI) and hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Demonstrated ability to shape business cases and originate AI engagements through presales activities
  • Strong leadership experience building and managing cross-functional global teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in regulated environments
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business; MBA preferred
  • Ability to travel as required
