Project Manager Application Deadline: 14 May 2025 Department: Projects Employment Type: Fixed Term – Full Time Location: EP Langage Power Station Reporting To: Head of Engineering Description We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager, on a fixed term / secondment basis for up to 3 years, to deliver the Lifetime Extension Project at Langage Energy Centre (LEC) safely and effectively. The role holder is required to be on site at LEC throughout the entire execution phase(s) and regularly attend the site whilst planning and evaluation of each phase takes place. The role holder will be a competent and practised Project Manager with the ability to lead multi-disciplined teams of Engineers, ensuring the delivery of all contractual and commercial milestones whilst always delivering excellent HSE performance. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the main duties and responsibilities will be: Managing Health and Safety, targeting the highest standards of HSE performance. Overseeing the entire project lifecycle from planning to completion. Coordinating and managing project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Ensuring project goals, timelines, and budgets are met. Being an expert in the administration of all contracts, utilising the support of EP colleagues. Monitoring and reporting on project progress to stakeholders. Managing risks and implementing mitigation strategies. Delivering innovative technical solutions. Managing multiple stakeholders with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Managing the commissioning activities, including optimisation of the program resulting in lean commissioning periods. Co-ordinating with the O&M team of the facility, ensuring that the asset seamlessly transfers to Operations on completion of the project. Working in accordance with industry best practice to ensure successful, cost focussed and on-schedule delivery. Driving the development of the quality programmes and procedures and implementing effectively. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Background Project Management & Engineering: Prior experience in a role working ideally in a power station or similar infrastructure, specifically with CCGT power generation experience – essential. Ability to demonstrate and utilise extensive knowledge and experience of engineering, operational and maintenance management – essential. Construction experience – essential. HSSE: Experience in establishing and implementing a proactive approach towards Health, Safety and Environment management – essential. Leadership: Understanding and commitment to building and leading a constructive culture where employees are provided with challenges and opportunities – essential. Experienced in leading and managing a substantial number of employees in a project driven environment – essential. Commercial: Ability to demonstrate and utilise extensive knowledge and experience of contracts and commercial management – essential. Behaviours Strong organisational skills – essential. Excellent written and oral communication – essential. Good interpersonal, communication and motivational skills with a flexible, enthusiastic and committed attitude to work – essential.
