Assistant Management Accountant Location: Birmingham – Office based 5 days a week EP Group EP Group is a global packaging manufacturer with production facilities across Europe and South East Asia. We specialise in a range of paper and plastic based packaging products, selling to many of the world’s largest retailers including Marks & Spencer, Amazon and McDonalds. We have an opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team in our Birmingham Head Office. Role purpose – Assistant Management Accountant: The Assistant Management Accountant will play an integral role in the finance function, supporting the finance manager in overseeing the financial health and strategic planning of the organisation. The position involves liaising with inter-departmental stakeholders and support the Finance Manager in providing financial insight for decision making at operational level. Key accountabilities – Assistant Management Accountant: * Supporting the Preparation of monthly management accounts up to Trial Balance level * Variance Analysis against Budget/Prior Month * Support with completing month end * Investigate incorrect postings * Accruals and prepayments * Daily Banking Reconciliation * Supporting the Finance Manager in completing internal and external audit processes. * Customer & Supplier Rebates * Bank Revaluations and Regroupings * Daily update of Exchange Rates * Maintenance of Petty Cash * Credit Card Reconciliation * Posting journals (P32,wages etc.) * Balance sheet reconciliations, posting & reconciliation of accruals and prepayments. * Fixed Assets reconciliation, calculation and booking of depreciation (additions and disposals). * Ad hoc duties and analysis Experience Required – Assistant Management Accountant: * Proven experience in management / financial accounting * Previous experience of finance in a manufacturing environment is essential * Experience in accounting and financial management disciplines * SAP experience desirable (or any other ERP system) * Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, LOOKUPs) * Excellent numerical reasoning and analytical skills * Qualified or part qualified in ACCA, CIMA or AAT desirable * Qualified by experience will also be considered * Attention to detail is key * Self-Motivated
