Summary:
- We are seeking a specialist with a deep understanding of the Landmarks EDM database to support our client’s wells data management activities.
- The role will have responsibility for scripting and running queries, bulk data uploads and building and maintaining PowerBI / Spotfire data quality dashboards.
- The candidate must have an in-depth, first-hand knowledge of the EDM, Compass, and OpenWells data structures and how data is entered on the front end and stored on the back end within Oracle.
- Expertise in creating and executing SQL scripts to access the EDM database is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Build or modify existing SQL scripts to query and extract data from the EDM database. The scripts will be executed in DataAnalyzer to extract EDM and OpenWells data for use and analysis in other systems.
- Maintain and extend PowerBI data quality dashboard that measures, visualizes, and tracks EDM and OpenWells data quality.
- Undertake bulk imports and exports of EDM, Compass, and OpenWells data sets as required.
- Generate periodic EDM data quality reports indicating data quality across the regions.
- Maintain and update the definitive EDM data field mappings list for all required data sets.
- Document the processes, tools, and workflows in EDM data management.
- Advise on opportunities to integrate EDM (read and write) with other systems, both third-party and BP.
- Advise on the relationship between EDM and DWP and data management implications.
Requirements:
- A data management specialist with at least 5 years experience with Landmarks EDM, EDT, Compass, and OpenWells databases.
- Thorough understanding and experience in developing and running SQL scripts on the EDM Oracle database.
- Expert-level knowledge of Landmarks DataAnalyser and Landmark DSIS is an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience in data management within the upstream drilling and well construction industry.
- A good understanding of drilling and well construction workflows.
- Comfortable acting as a technical advisor and able to engage with colleagues and instigate theoretical discussions about what may be possible for other teams to plan for their own products.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of data integration and analytics tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of agile working practices (required) and product management (advantage).
