We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Service Manager to lead the operational delivery of a new data centre in Austria, supporting the site from construction and commissioning through to full operational maturity. This is a long‑term role responsible for establishing and embedding operational best practice during the build and ramp‑up phase, and for leading high‑performing, resilient operations once the facility is live. The successful candidate will be based in Austria and bring strong experience within data centre, logistics, or other critical infrastructure environments, ideally with exposure to sites during construction, commissioning, or early‑stage operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational setup of the data centre during construction and commissioning, ensuring readiness for go‑live.
  • Transition the site into stable, efficient, and compliant day‑to‑day operations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve service delivery processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Partner with construction, engineering, and external vendors to ensure operational requirements are embedded early.
  • Build and lead on‑site service capability, including workforce planning, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements across both construction and operational phases.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance to support ongoing operations.
  • Oversee inventory, materials flow, and operational logistics to support data centre activities.
  • Support maintenance planning and the reliability of critical infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, and network environments.
  • Act as the primary on‑site lead for service delivery, driving accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies across both transition and steady‑state operations.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Service Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role.
  • Background in data centre operations, logistics, supply chain, or other highly structured operational environments.
  • Experience supporting environments through construction, commissioning, ramp‑up, and ongoing operations.
  • Strong understanding of service delivery, vendor coordination, and operational processes.
  • Experience managing inventory, warehousing, or material flow in complex environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale operational service functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams, contractors, and third‑party providers.
  • Knowledge of Austrian and/or EU health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are highly desirable.
Location Requirements

This role is based in Austria with a strong on‑site presence required. Candidates must have the right to work in Austria.
