We are seeking an experienced AV/RF Systems Design Engineer to support the design, optimisation, and technical integrity of advanced radio and communication solutions. This role centres on RF/AV system design excellence while offering the opportunity to upskill into LMR (Land Mobile Radio) technologies. You will work across system design, configuration support, technical troubleshooting, and documentation, ensuring high‑quality engineering output for global communication environments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Systems Design & Architecture
    • Develop and validate AV/RF system designs and Bills of Materials based on survey data, including GRID Mapping outputs.
    • Produce standardised DAS and RF design documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
    • Support the selection, testing, assembly, and standardisation of technology components for radio and AV network systems.
    • Assist in planning and developing RF network architectures in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
    • (Optional Upskill Area) Contribute to LMR system components such as fleet mapping, configuration, and RF spectrum analysis as development progresses.
  • Technical Configuration & Optimisation
    • Support configuration and programming of RF/AV systems at a system level.
    • Collaborate with installation and sustainability partners on system testing and performance optimisation.
    • Run technical reports to assess system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure efficient system operation.
  • Advanced Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide Tier 2/3 technical troubleshooting for AV/RF system issues.
    • Diagnose equipment and system failures, escalating when necessary.
    • Support RF engineering tasks associated with outages or performance concerns.
  • Technical Review & Quality Assurance
    • Conduct peer reviews and quality checks of RF/AV system designs.
    • Participate in and lead technical design reviews.
    • Produce accurate as‑built configuration documentation.
  • Research & Development Support
    • Engage in R&D initiatives related to RF and communication technology evolution.
    • Support hands‑on technical evaluations, lab testing, and proof‑of‑concept deployments.
    • Analyse feasibility, performance, and integration requirements for new technologies.
    • Present technical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Collaboration
    • Maintain clear documentation of system design parameters, RF coverage plots, and technical project information.
    • Keep stakeholders updated on project progress and technical developments.
    • Collaborate across engineering, sustainability, and operations teams to resolve system requirements and issues.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • 3–5 years’ experience in an RF, AV, or systems design engineering role.
  • Experience with analog/digital system design (e.g., DAS, RF distribution, P25/DMR/TETRA familiarity beneficial but not mandatory).
  • Proficiency using design and system configuration tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills.

DESIRED CRITERIA

  • Experience with AutoCAD, BIM360/365, or Bluebeam.
  • Exposure to LMR systems (or motivation to upskill into LMR technology).
  • RF design or software certification (e.g., iBwave or equivalent).
