Eolas Medical is transforming how critical medical knowledge is accessed at the point of care. We have a vision that the future of healthcare ensures that the world's medical knowledge is queried, seamlessly in real time, for every clinical decision ever made for a patient. We're building and deploying the "brain of an AI doctor". Designed and developed by doctors, the platform aggregates and indexes tens of thousands of items of medical content, enabling rapid and accurate decision-making. It's currently being used by hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals globally, over 85% of acute NHS hospitals, 40% of all doctors in Ireland and also used in world leading institutions in the US including Stanford Healthcare, Mass General and Boston Children's Hospital.
We've just closed a $13 million Series A fundraise and we're now hiring our first dedicated QA engineer to work alongside our doctors and engineers helping build the next generation of AI powered clinical knowledge tools. If you are an experienced QA Engineer this is one of those rare roles where your decisions will literally influence how doctors treat patients every day.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Lead QA Engineer who excels in both manual testing and test automation: someone who loves to dig into new features, find edge cases, and ensure every release meets the highest standard of reliability. This is quite an atypical role as it involves helping identify technical issues in production and working with the engineering team to fix these issues. You'll work with our engineering team to validate the quality of our software through a mix of hands-on exploratory testing and automated test development. This is a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and safety of a platform that clinicians rely on daily.
What You'll Do
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for new and existing features.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using frameworks such as Cypress / Detox, integrating these into our CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman.
- Collaborate with developers to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues early in the release cycle.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in testing processes and automation coverage.
- Work with customers i.e. HCPs to identify and provide technical support.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, ideally in a hybrid manual + automation role.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and defect management.
- Proficiency with modern automation tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.).
- Experience testing APIs, web applications, and preferably mobile applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments and Git-based workflows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills — you'll work closely with other engineers.
- A mindset of continuous improvement and ownership over product quality.

- Background in a clinical environment would be amazing!
- Background in health tech or other regulated industries.
