Enemy of Boredom (EOB) is a video game design training centre working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to build futures.

We are seeking video game design tutors for Level 1, 2 and 3 courses at our studio in Bracknell.

The Role:

As a Game Design Tutor, your task is to equip neurodiverse young people with the video game design skills needed to create a more beautiful digital world. You will be offering students opportunities to enable them to have maximum capabilities and confidence through learning video game design - education without boundaries.

Skills and abilities that EOB look for:

  • You need to be trained to degree level in video game related courses or have industry experience
  • Current teaching qualification or willing to take one on
  • A keen interest in pop culture and passionate about the games industry
  • Can understand young people and their differences when learning to help promote growth
  • Comfortable working in the venue as well as online with students
  • A genuine enjoyment of lesson and workshop planning
  • The ability to report and record data and progress
  • Self-motivated and can contribute ideas for continuous improvement
  • Solid organisation skills and the ability to adapt and be flexible to tasks

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following EOB's plans, curriculum and schemes of work
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests
