The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will take full responsibility for a portfolio of construction projects across the project lifecycle. The role will interact closely with the head of construction, SHEQ, commercial, sales and wider teams in the business. In addition, the job holder will be accountable for SHEQ, programme and commercial status across the assigned portfolio, actively participating in specific project governance.
- Take responsibility for programme and commercial across assigned construction project portfolio driving project excellence.
- Take reporting for PMs across assigned project portfolio.
- Take responsibility for programme management oversight for the assigned project portfolio.
- Ensure compliance to construction governance is in place across assigned project portfolio.
- Work closely with pre-construction manager in preparing project mobilisation activity.
- Collaborate with commercial stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are fully understood and executed on time as per project cycle.
- Contribute to the internal matrix support framework, ensuring that supporting aspects within the project cycle are in place and fit for BAU.
- Responsible for ensuring health, safety and environmental issues are prioritised and drive continuous improvement across assigned project portfolio.
- Meet SHEQ auditing targets for assigned project portfolio.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices to educate clients and internal teams on the advantages of various design and implementation options to meet business and technical requirements within the EV sector.
- Ensure assigned project portfolio is live within Sitetracker.
- Complete project reviews with stakeholders for assigned project portfolio.
- Inspire and engage people within the Delivery business units to develop leadership skills in others through coaching, mentoring, rewarding and guiding employees.
- Collaborate with the Director of Delivery to ensure common goals are understood, communicated, and implemented to meet organisational goals.
- Build and cultivate strong internal customer relationships to establish engagement for the Fleet and Amazon delivery business unit and ensure execution delivery is in alignment with expectations.
Experience in an equivalent SPM role or demonstrable complex project management experience, ideally gained within utilities, electrical facilities construction.
Project Management/Technical related qualification.
Demonstrate programme management experience with a delivery business unit.
Commercially aware with a strong proven background in infrastructure project delivery and associated contracts.
Proven ability in working with and providing leadership to sub-contractor frameworks.
Able to minimise risk through developing and endorsing safe operating processes.
