Our Transmission team has a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Fitter to join them in Oldham.
Our Role
As an electrical fitter, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, inspecting and maintaining electrical plant apparatus, such as electrical switches, isolators, circuit breakers, batteries, protection and transformers within ENWL substations.
Ideally, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter however we are willing to consider applications from candidates who may be appointed to the role on a development basis as a Fitters Mate.
What we’re looking for
- Hold a recognised Craft Apprenticeship and/or Vocational Training equivalent to a minimum of NVQ level 3;
- Hold operational authorisations enabling you to act as a competent person at the level required for the role;
- Hold a valid, full UK driving licence (essential) with categories B + E (desirable);
- Hold New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) accreditation;
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe working practices and risk assessment procedures;
- Have experience working with high voltage electrical system components, plant and equipment;
- Have a good understanding of health and safety legislation and how it relates to personal responsibilities;
- Have a broad understanding of the construction industry and the particular role that Electricity North West undertakes;
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
