As a Civils Mate, with the instruction and guidance of the Civil Lead, you will ensure all sites that require civil work are ready for the jointing team for their arrival on site, following all correct company procedures. A jointing bay/track will be excavated so that any jointing activities can be carried out. This may include laying of correct cables. When jointing activities are completed, the excavations will need to be reinstated to a high, original standard. You will support the Civil Lead in the rectification of customer complaints relating to a civil nature. You will deliver outputs to a high standard, in accordance with all technical, safety and industry working practices. You will also strive to deliver excellent customer service, and work to ensure all appointment obligations to the customer are kept.

Once you are fully trained and authorised as a Jointers Mate, you will support in delivering Cut Out works at the customer service position with a Cut Out Craftsperson/Jointer. You will ensure the required outputs are delivered and in accordance with all technical and safe working practices, standards of health & safety are exceeded, productivity and quality of service delivery are maximised, excellent customer service is delivered, and all appointment regulatory obligations are kept.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a civil background, both excavations and reinstatements (desirable)
  • Use of Cable Avoidance Tools (desirable)
  • NRASWA accreditation (desirable)
  • Experience using plant and equipment (desirable)
  • A valid, full UK driving licence (essential) with categories B +E (desirable)
