Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative environment? We're looking for a Connections Assistant to join our Business Connections team. Reporting to the Business Connections Delivery Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of new customer connections, ensuring projects are progressed efficiently and in line with customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and our standards of service.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating multiple activities, and providing a high level of support to both customers and colleagues. The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.

As a Connections Assistant, you'll be a key point of contact for both internal and external customers, responding to enquiries by telephone and in writing and ensuring customers receive accurate information and a positive experience throughout their journey. You'll support the end-to-end administration and coordination of connection projects, preparing documentation, monitoring progress, liaising with delivery partners, and helping ensure projects are delivered against agreed timescales. From producing work orders and construction packs to coordinating legal consents and supporting project delivery, you'll play an important role in helping customers receive their electricity connections on time.

The role also involves maintaining project records, processing requests, raising orders, supporting compliance reporting, and working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure a seamless customer experience. You'll proactively monitor projects, identify potential issues, and communicate updates to customers and stakeholders throughout the process. We're committed to providing an excellent customer experience, so we're looking for someone who takes ownership, builds strong working relationships, and continually looks for ways to improve the service we provide.

You'll have previous experience working in a customer service or administrative environment and be comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You'll be an excellent communicator who enjoys working with people and can build effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners. You will also be organised, adaptable, and motivated to deliver high-quality service in a busy operational environment.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language and Science
  • Experience working in a customer-focused, regulated environment
  • Experience working with database systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service (or equivalent), knowledge of SAP, and an understanding of Connections Guaranteed Standards of Performance would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
