A Fantastic Opportunity: Registrations Business Support Lead

Working as part of the Domestic Connections team you will be accountable for ensuring all customer applications and enquiries are efficiently processed to meet regulatory requirements and excellent levels of customer service. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a robust registrations and enquiries training library and suite of reference documents.

Alongside the above, you will play a key role in supporting the Team Leader/ Delivery Manager in the upskilling of the team, to drive continuous improvement in-line with customer expectations by acting on emerging trends. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the business experts to look at innovative ways to streamline the process for customer applications for new electricity connections including digitisation of the process.

This role would be particularly suited to candidates who have a passion for data driven decision making, with a background in audit, compliance, assurance, quality management or regulatory performance.

As our Registrations Business Support Lead, you will:

  • Lead the monitoring and reporting of registrations performance, ensuring delivery against key business and regulatory targets.
  • Support the processing and quality assurance of customer applications and enquiries relating to new electricity connections.
  • Provide expert guidance on registrations processes, regulatory requirements, and customer enquiries.
  • Produce, maintain and analyse performance dashboards and reporting using Power BI reporting tools.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities through data analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor adherence to regulatory obligations and internal controls, helping to reduce compliance risk.
  • Support assurance activities, audits and quality reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide support and guidance on regulatory requirements including licence conditions, GSOP measures and operational performance obligations.
  • Present performance insights, trends, compliance risks and improvement recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Support the Team Leader and Delivery Manager with KPI reporting, performance reviews and business planning activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, customer experience and regulatory performance.
  • Support the development and delivery of training sessions for colleagues across the team.
  • Create, implement and maintain a comprehensive training library, guidance documents and knowledge materials.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure information remains accurate, consistent and customer focused.
  • Support initiatives focused on process simplification, automation and digitisation of customer application processes.

This is an opportunity to take on a highly visible business support role where you'll influence performance, compliance and customer experience across a critical operational function. You'll work with senior stakeholders, shape improvements to core processes, and help drive the future development of our Domestic Connections service.

The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.

What we’re looking for:

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:

  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in an audit, compliance, assurance, quality or governance-based role.
  • Knowledge of utility regulations and customer service obligations, ideally within the electricity sector.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and licence obligations, including experience supporting adherence to standards such as SLCs and GSOP measures.
  • Strong data management, analysis and reporting capability.
  • Advanced Power BI skills with the ability to convert data into meaningful business insight.
  • Experience monitoring and managing KPIs, service levels and operational performance measures.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality and integrity.
  • Confidence presenting information, performance updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operational improvements.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service within a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP, SAP Portal and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
