A Fantastic Opportunity: Treasury Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for a Treasury Analyst to join us within the Strategic Planning team in Manchester. You will support the treasury function and be responsible for the group's cash management requirements. This will involve:

  • Managing and reporting on the group's short to medium term cash flow requirements, ensuring compliance with the group's financing agreements and adherence to the group's treasury policy.
  • Managing the group's short to medium term cash requirements and maintaining a cash flow forecast to manage liquidity requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for investing surplus cash to optimise returns whilst ensuring appropriate liquidity.
  • Verbally contracting liquidity fund transactions and money market deals with agreed bank counterparties.
  • Managing the group's short-term borrowing requirements under the group's banking facilities.
  • Ensuring all interest and principal payments are made promptly and correctly on long term debt and derivatives via online banking systems.
  • Correctly recording all treasury transactions into the treasury system.
  • Monitoring credit risk of counterparties and managing the group's exposures.
  • Maintaining the group's bank mandates.
  • Always ensuring compliance with the board approved treasury policy.
  • Producing weekly and monthly treasury management information, containing cash, liquidity, and market data.
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc projects within the Corporate Finance and Treasury team.
  • Assisting with the ongoing integration of the group into the ScottishPower and Iberdrola groups following the recent acquisition.

The successful candidate must, at the start of employment, have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree level education, in a numerate, finance or economics-based subject.
  • Part newly qualified in AMCT, CIMA or ACCA.
  • Experience gained in a large corporate finance environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to logically process and interpret data.
  • A willingness to learn new systems and develop your own skills and business knowledge.
  • Proficiency in IT and the use of computer applications, including Treasury Management Systems and Bloomberg.
