A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electrical infrastructure projects. As our Electrical Infrastructure Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial strategy for major construction and utility projects, ensuring robust risk management, accurate cost planning, and contractual compliance. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, design teams, and delivery partners to drive performance and deliver cost-effective solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage commercial risk visibility for construction project bids.
- Provide contractual and cost guidance during preconstruction feasibility.
- Prepare tender and contract documentation for civil and electrical works.
- Lead monthly/quarterly cost analysis and performance reporting.
- Partner with project management and design teams to establish client requirements.
- Drive presentations to senior board for formal approvals.
- Oversee pre-contract services and ensure consistent cost plans.
- Manage NEC professional services contracts and framework agreements.
- Evaluate supply chain tenders to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Lead and develop a team of Estimators and Junior Quantity Surveyors.
- Champion continuous improvement in commercial processes aligned to business strategy.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience with NEC4 PSC and ECC Contracts.
- Strong background in utilities/electrical QS industry.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contract terms (NEC, IET, JCT).
- Demonstrable experience in cost control, forecasting, and tender analysis.
- Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- RICS membership (or working towards) preferred.
- Post-graduate experience managing high-value, multi-disciplinary projects.
