Main Purpose: As an Offline Services Supervisor, you will be the designated point of contact for both internal staff and external clients for select projects whilst in Offline. These projects will primarily (but not exclusively) be linked to the Envy Offline building where you are based. These projects can be working locally in Envy suites or working remotely. You will be based in a designated ENVY building but can be required to provide support in other ENVY buildings if the need arises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary escalation point for project-related issues that may impact client workflows.
- Ensure Offline Bookings and Envy Post Producers are kept informed of progress, remediation plans, and any escalation to Engineering when required.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior team members, promoting adherence to Envy workflows and best practices.
- Escalate training or performance concerns to the Head of Offline Services, Head of Ingest, and Staff Development Manager where additional support is required.
- Work closely with Post-Production Coordinators and Offline Bookings to ensure projects are clearly organised and communicated, while providing guidance on technical queries and client responses.
- Oversee and support operational tasks within the Offline department, including Avid ingests, exports (review files, EDLs, AAFs, etc.), project locking, syncing, and grouping.
- Investigate and resolve software and hardware issues escalated by assistants, acting as the final point of support before referral to the Engineering team.
- Provide technical support to Engineering when required, including the setup of new edit suites and equipment, software deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients across designated projects, ensuring a high standard of service and support.
- Provide basic editorial support when required, including creating assemblies, managing pulls, and sourcing archive replacements.
Skills Required:
- Extensive knowledge of Avid Media Composer.
- Excellent syncing and grouping skills using Avid Media Composer.
- Good knowledge of full post-production processes.
- Additional ability to conform, pre-grade and QC is useful but not imperative.
- Strong knowledge of different video codecs and file types.
- Experience in managing and accessing various storage solutions, including local drives, external devices, and network‑attached storage.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and multi‑task when needed.
- Ability to remain calm and professional.
Working Days / Hours: Role primarily Monday – Friday (working day shifts), but weekend or night work may be required on rare occasions for operational needs.
