The business is a recognised delivery partner on government and council-funded energy efficiency programmes, working closely with local authorities and major energy suppliers to support the UK’s net zero targets. Their projects focus on improving energy efficiency in homes, reducing fuel poverty and delivering measurable social value, underpinned by strong compliance and quality workmanship.
Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of solar and heating projects, the business is expanding its in-house electrical capability and is now seeking an experienced Solar/Renewables Electrician to join the team.
Role overview
The Solar Electrician will be responsible for the installation, wiring and commissioning of solar PV systems across residential and some commercial sites. The role also includes electrical works associated with battery storage, air source heat pumps and ventilation measures. This is a field-based, full-time position, reporting into the electrical and project delivery function. You will be trusted to work independently on site, maintain high installation standards and represent the business professionally with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities and duties
- Install and wire solar PV systems including inverters and battery storage
- Complete electrical works for air source heat pump systems and ventilation measures
- Carry out electrical assessments prior to installation
- Configure, test and fault-find DC and AC circuits
- Ensure all work complies with BS7671 wiring regulations and MCS installation standards
- Work closely with project managers and installation teams to meet delivery programmes
- Maintain accurate testing, commissioning and compliance documentation
- Engage professionally with customers and site stakeholders
Professional qualifications and experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Recognised Solar PV qualification
- Proven experience installing and commissioning solar PV systems
- Experience working on or alongside air source heat pump installations
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- ECS or CSCS card preferred

Salary and benefits

- Standard working hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break
- Saturday working on a rota basis, approximately one in three, paid as overtime
- 30 days annual leave including bank holidays
