The opportunity:
Envo Talent is supporting an ICP delivering operations and maintenance services across high voltage infrastructure supporting renewable generation and grid connected assets. Due to continued growth across Scotland, they are expanding their HV engineering team and are looking for an O&M Engineer to support maintenance, switching operations and fault response across HV electrical systems. This role offers strong long-term stability and the opportunity to progress to Senior Authorised Person.
Salary and benefits:
- £21.50 per hour (£44,720 per year) starting salary
- Increase to £24.00 per hour (£49,920 per year) after successful SAP authorisation

The role:
You will support the operation and maintenance of HV electrical infrastructure across sites in Central and South Scotland. Typical responsibilities include:
- Planned and reactive maintenance on HV and LV equipment up to 132kV
- Inspection and maintenance of switchgear, transformers, RMUs and protection systems
- HV switching, isolation and earthing procedures
- Ensuring safety from the system under operational safety rules
- Electrical testing and analysis of system performance
- Fault diagnosis and coordination of repairs
- Preparing RAMS, work packages and job instructions
- Supporting technicians and junior engineers on site
- Liaising with clients and operational teams
Experience required:
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent electrical qualification
- Experience working on HV electrical systems (33kV or above preferred)
- Senior Authorised Person authorisation or working towards SAP
- Experience with HV switching operations and electrical testing
- Strong understanding of electrical safety rules and HV operational procedures
- Experience maintaining HV equipment including switchgear, transformers and protection systems
- CSCS or ECS card advantageous
- GWO certification beneficial but not essential

- Ability to work independently across operational sites
- Clear communication with engineers, technicians and clients
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Calm and decisive during operational or fault situations
