Overview

Spinal Injury Support Worker – Night Shifts. This is an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join Libertatem Healthcare Group\’s new client in Cardiff, working on a 2:1 ratio. The role involves providing care and support to individuals with spinal injuries, helping them live independently and with dignity in their own homes.

Role Details

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £17.50 per hour weeknights, £17.25 per hour Saturdays, £18 per hour Sundays

Job Type: Zero-hour contract

Shifts: 8pm-8am, 7 days per week. Full-time/part-time hours available. We also have sleeping night shifts available, 8pm-8am, 7 days per week, plus day shifts 8am-8pm, 7 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
  • Respiratory management (cough assist/suctioning)
  • Autonomic Dysreflexia management
  • Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
  • Administering medication (training provided)
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting with mobility and physical activities
  • Light housekeeping duties
  • Catheter care and bowel management

  • Previous experience in a similar role, supporting clients with spinal injury, catheter care and bowel management
  • A caring and compassionate nature
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid UK driving licence essential to drive the WAV during shifts

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role, supporting clients with spinal injuries, catheter care, and bowel management. A caring and compassionate nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A valid UK driving licence is essential.
