Libertatem Healthcare Group is offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join their team in Canterbury, working with a male client in his late 50s who has a spinal injury following a road traffic accident. The role involves providing comprehensive support, including personal care, medication administration, and emotional support, to help the client maintain independence and dignity in their own home.
Main duties of the job:
- Assisting the client with personal care, such as washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management.
- Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition.
- Administering medication and supporting with cough assist and nebulisers (training provided).
- Providing emotional support and companionship.
- Supporting with moving and handling.
- Light housekeeping duties.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with high level spinal cord injury with complex needs.
- Experience with catheter care, bowel management and/or knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia.
- A caring and compassionate nature.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid UK driving licence essential to drive during shift.
- Excellent communication skills.
