Envitia is a UK-based data and digital consultancy, delivering high-impact transformation services that help organisations unlock the full value of their data. We act as trusted advisors, shaping strategy, defining architectures, and leading transformation initiatives that enable our clients to harness data, from geospatial intelligence through to advanced analytics and AI.

At Envitia, consulting is about more than delivery; it’s about influence, impact, and long-term partnership. You’ll be part of a growing, collaborative consulting practice that is focused on delivering real value, building enduring client relationships, and shaping the future of data-driven decision-making in complex environments.

As a DevOps Engineer at Envitia, you will play a key role in designing, building, operating and continuously improving secure cloud and platform solutions that support critical government and client missions. You will help deliver reliable, scalable and secure digital services, working across the full software delivery lifecycle from infrastructure automation and deployment through to platform operations and service optimisation.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on modern DevOps and cloud-native engineering practices. You'll work with technologies such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, ECS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), helping teams accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of security, resilience and operational excellence.

Working within multidisciplinary Agile teams, your work will include:

  • Building secure CI/CD pipelines
  • Automating infrastructure
  • Implementing observability and monitoring solutions
  • Supporting live environments through SRE-aligned ways of working

Due to the nature of our work, some assignments may require higher levels of security clearance and regular onsite attendance at client locations in London or the South West, depending on programme requirements.

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with experience designing, building and supporting secure cloud-based platforms and automated delivery pipelines:

  • Experience working in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or equivalent
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging and observability solutions for cloud environments
  • Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within Agile, cross-functional teams
  • Exposure to cloud migration programmes and large-scale platform transformation initiatives
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including security automation and secure software delivery practices

Security Clearance Requirements:

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SC level security clearance and eligible to go through higher levels of security clearance.

The role will require travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month as well as travel to customer sites in the UK when required.

At Envitia, we believe that our greatest asset is our people. We’re committed to fostering a work environment where every employee feels valued, supported, and motivated to excel. Our comprehensive benefits package is designed to enhance both your professional and personal wellbeing, including:

  • Annual Leave: 25 days plus your birthday off, with the ability to buy or sell up to five additional days
  • Private Healthcare
  • Training & Skills Development: Ongoing learning opportunities to help you advance your career
  • Support for gym memberships or fitness-related expenses
  • Life Assurance: Extensive life insurance coverage for peace of mind
  • Pension Contribution: Competitive options to help you plan for a secure financial future
  • Discounts on a wide range of products and services
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Designed to support work-life balance and personal commitments
  • Community Engagement & Volunteering

Inclusion at Envitia:

How to prepare for a job interview at Envitia

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
