The Role
We are looking for a Data Solutions Architect to play a central role in shaping and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions for our clients. In this position, you will design and implement architectures that combine our internal capabilities with leading commercial products and frameworks, helping organisations unlock the full value of their data.
Working within our Consulting division and reporting to the Architecture Team Lead, you will contribute to the successful delivery of solutions across modern data platforms and cloud technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with client needs.
Beyond project delivery, you will help strengthen our architectural capability by contributing to internal best practices, reusable patterns, and shared assets, supported by senior architects. You will also play an active role in pre-sales and business development activities, supporting solution design, contributing to estimates, developing client-facing materials, and representing our expertise in industry events and forums where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Delivery: Own the end-to-end design and delivery of data-centric solutions, translating client requirements into practical architectures and ensuring successful implementation in collaboration with delivery teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Consulting: Act as a key architectural contact for clients and teams, clearly communicating design decisions, options, and trade-offs while supporting informed decision-making through structured analysis and consulting expertise.
- Governance & Quality Assurance: Ensure solutions meet required standards, regulatory frameworks, and non-functional requirements (e.g. security, performance, resilience, and cost), proactively managing risks, dependencies, and quality throughout delivery.
- Pre-sales & Commercial Support: Contribute to bids and proposals by shaping solution approaches, developing estimates, and producing clear, client-facing technical materials that demonstrate deliverability.
- Capability Development: Continuously develop your technical and consulting skills, contribute to reusable architectural assets and best practices, and support the growth of colleagues through guidance and mentoring.
Experience Required
- Data Architecture: Strong experience in data modelling, transformation, migration, and analytics/AI solutions, with knowledge of data quality, metadata, and modern platforms.
- Cloud & Technology: Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure data services, plus knowledge of distributed systems, integration, microservices, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solution Architecture: Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Consulting Skills: Effective communication and stakeholder management, with experience delivering within large transformation programmes and presenting to governance forums.
- Pre-sales & Domain: Experience supporting bids and proposals, with a background in Defence and/or Central Government and familiarity with GDS/Defence standards.
Security Clearance Requirements
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SC level security clearance.
Location
The role will require travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month as well as travel to customer sites in the UK when required.
