The Role

As a Defence Consulting Lead at Envitia, you will play a key role in driving growth across our Defence sector while delivering high-impact, client-facing consulting services. This is a senior, market-facing position suited to a sector specialist who combines deep Defence expertise with strong commercial acumen.

You will work closely with MOD stakeholders, Defence delivery organisations and industry partners to shape, qualify and win new business opportunities. Acting as both a trusted advisor and a growth leader, you’ll balance hands-on delivery with strategic account development.

Your work will focus on helping Defence organisations solve complex challenges across areas such as data exploitation, geospatial intelligence, digital transformation and secure, scalable technology delivery. Through this client proximity, you’ll identify opportunities to expand Envitia’s footprint, strengthen relationships and support the growth of our Defence portfolio.

Beyond delivery, you’ll play a key role in building something bigger, growing Envitia’s footprint across the Defence sector and, over time, shaping and leading a team of Defence-focused consultants. You’ll have the autonomy, backing and platform to build a scalable consulting capability with real market presence.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will combine client delivery, business development and sector leadership to drive growth across Envitia’s Defence portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-value client work – acting as a consultant on client engagements, helping define problems, shape solutions and deliver outcomes for our defence customers.
  • Driving Defence sector growth – identifying, shaping and winning new opportunities across MOD, Defence organisations and industry partners, while supporting pipeline development, bid activity and account expansion.
  • Building senior relationships – developing trusted connections across the Defence ecosystem, positioning Envitia as a credible and valued partner to both customers and suppliers.
  • Collaborating across sales and delivery – working closely with commercial and technical teams to develop compelling, deliverable solutions and ensure a seamless transition from opportunity to delivery.
  • Expanding consulting capability – contributing to the growth of Envitia’s Defence consulting function, including supporting recruitment, developing propositions and building reusable assets.
  • Representing Envitia with integrity – maintaining high professional and security standards, ensuring all work aligns with Defence requirements and reinforces Envitia’s reputation for trusted delivery.

Experience Required

We’re looking for a credible Defence sector specialist who combines strong consulting capability with commercial awareness and the ability to build trusted relationships.

  • Experience working within the UK Defence sector, gained through consulting, delivery, programme leadership, MOD service or industry roles.
  • Established network across MOD, Defence organisations, primes or the wider supplier ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of contributing to revenue growth through account development, opportunity shaping or bid activity.
  • Experience delivering client-facing consulting, advisory or programme work in complex, stakeholder-rich environments.
  • Strong understanding of how to operate effectively within secure, regulated and delivery-focused Defence settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, delivery and technical teams, building credibility across both commercial and delivery functions.
  • Exposure to one or more of the following domains: data, digital transformation, architecture, geospatial, AI, analytics, mission systems or secure technology programmes.

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SC level security clearance, DV preferred.

Location

The role will require travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month as well as travel to regular attendance at MOD, Defence supplier and partner sites across the South West, South East, London and other locations as required.
