About the role:
A Remote Monitoring Centre (RMC/RCC) Analyst is responsible for proactively monitoring systems, events, and data streams from a remote location. You will analyse alerts to identify potential incidents, elevate issues, and perform initial troubleshooting to ensure system stability and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active monitoring: Watch real-time monitoring tools, dashboards, and alerts for system events, alarms, and anomalies.
- Incident detection and management: Triage incoming alerts and determine if they represent a security threat, system failure, or other incident.
- Initial investigation and troubleshooting: Perform first-line analysis to identify the cause of an alert or incident. This can involve checking logs, verifying system status, or restarting systems.
- Incident escalation: Follow established procedures to elevate complex or major incidents to the appropriate technical support teams, on-site personnel, or emergency services.
- Reporting and documentation: Create detailed, accurate reports of incidents, including root-cause analysis, and maintain a log of all monitoring activities.
- Communication: Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders, including technical teams and customers, about the status of an incident.
- Maintenance: Support operational processes such as system releases, patches, and routine maintenance activities.
- Process improvement: Participate in reviewing and improving monitoring procedures, processes, and incident response playbooks.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages.
