Job Description

Envision Education is currently recruiting for an experienced School Welfare Officer to join a welcoming mainstream primary school. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm.

We are looking for a caring, organised and confident individual with previous Welfare Officer experience within a school setting. You will play an important role in supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of pupils throughout the school day, ensuring children receive appropriate care when they are unwell, injured or require medical support.

The successful candidate will need to be confident communicating with pupils, parents and staff and maintaining accurate welfare and medical records. Experience using Medical Tracker is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day welfare and First Aid support to pupils.

  • Respond appropriately to pupils who are unwell, injured or require medical assistance.

  • Administer medication in accordance with school policies and individual healthcare plans.

  • Maintain accurate records of illnesses, injuries, accidents and medication.

  • Use Medical Tracker to record and manage pupil medical information where required.

  • Contact parents and carers regarding pupil illness, injuries or welfare concerns.

  • Maintain and organise the school's medical room and First Aid supplies.

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure First Aid equipment is readily available.

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive pupil information.

  • Liaise with teachers, senior leaders, parents and external professionals where necessary.

  • Support pupils with individual medical and healthcare needs.

  • Follow safeguarding, Health & Safety and school policies at all times.

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30am - 4:00pm

  • Full-time

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Previous Welfare Officer experience within a school is essential.

  • Experience working within a primary school is highly desirable.

  • Experience using Medical Tracker is advantageous.

  • First Aid training/qualification is highly desirable.

  • Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Confident communicating with children, parents and school staff.

  • Caring, calm and professional approach when dealing with illness or injury.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
