SEND Support Assistant .

The Role

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will

  • Provide 1:1 and/or small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Support pupils with their learning, communication, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist pupils during therapy sessions and follow individual education and support plans.
  • Help prepare engaging learning resources and classroom activities.
  • Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet each pupil's individual needs.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who

  • Has previous experience working with children or young people within a UK educational setting.
  • Has experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Assistant (desirable but not essential).
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is patient, caring, proactive, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
