This full-time role offers the chance to work in a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential through personalised, engaging, and multi-sensory learning.
The Role
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will
- Provide 1:1 and/or small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Support pupils with their learning, communication, social, and emotional development.
- Assist pupils during therapy sessions and follow individual education and support plans.
- Help prepare engaging learning resources and classroom activities.
- Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet each pupil's individual needs.
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who
- Has previous experience working with children or young people within a UK educational setting.
- Has experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Assistant (desirable but not essential).
- Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is patient, caring, proactive, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
