We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive school in St Albans. This role focuses on supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with an immediate start available.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children in the UK.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs is highly desirable.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to help pupils thrive academically and emotionally.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Help ensure that every student feels supported and encouraged both in the classroom and around the school.
- Assist with classroom management and daily routines, helping to create a calm and structured setting.
- Play a key role in fostering an atmosphere where all pupils can develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Requirements:
- Available Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.
- Hold a valid DBS, or be willing to apply for one.
- Experience working with children who have special educational needs.
- Live in or be able to commute easily to the St Albans area.
