We are partnering with a large, inclusive and high-achieving secondary school in Southall that is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a diverse and supportive school environment, helping students aged 11-16 to access learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities for a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide classroom, 1:1 and small group support across a range of subjects.
  • Support students in understanding tasks and staying engaged during lessons.
  • Assist pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Support teachers with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support students' social and emotional development.
  • Adapt to working across different subject areas throughout the school day.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good general knowledge of core subjects including English, Maths and Science.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • The ability to commute to Southall or live locally.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday. Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
