This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in children’s lives. You will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop their skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
We are looking for a teacher who understands that every child learns differently and can adapt their teaching to meet a range of individual needs, abilities and learning styles.
The Role
As a SEND Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, ensuring learning is accessible, stimulating and tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.
You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and the wider school team to provide appropriate academic, social and emotional support. You will also help establish a structured and nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, adapting content to suit individual learning needs.

- Promote positive behaviour through consistent expectations, encouragement, and effective classroom management.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
- Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, achievements, and individual learning needs.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community, working in partnership with colleagues and, where appropriate, parents and carers.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful SEND Primary Teacher will ideally have:
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within a primary school or educational setting.
- Experience working with pupils with SEND in the UK, or a genuine interest in developing a career in specialist education.
- The ability to adapt lessons and resources to accommodate different abilities, learning styles and individual needs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish clear, consistent expectations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, resilient and consistent approach to supporting pupils.
- A creative and enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and learning.
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
- The right to work in the UK.
- A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and all required pre-employment safeguarding checks.
- The ability to provide satisfactory references and evidence of qualifications and employment history.
Experience supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, or other additional learning needs would be advantageous.
Why Apply?
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the education and development of pupils with SEND.
- The chance to deliver creative, personalised learning that recognises each child’s strengths and potential.
- The opportunity to work collaboratively with a dedicated team of teachers and support staff.
- A rewarding teaching role focused on helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
