Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) while making a positive impact on their learning, development and wellbeing. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
The Role
As an
Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant , you will
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
- Support pupils with their learning, development and classroom activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to support individual learning needs.
- Assist pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
- Support children who may have additional learning, behavioural or communication needs.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
- Adapt activities and provide appropriate support to help pupils access the curriculum.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all pupils.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm).
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
- Previous experience working with children, young people, SEND or in a care/support setting is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, caring and understanding approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- The confidence to support children with a range of additional needs.
- A willingness to learn and develop your skills within an educational setting.
- The ability to commute to or work within the
High Wycombe area.
Pay
