Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start
We are working with a supportive, inclusive mainstream primary school in Enfield with a dedicated SEN unit, and we are looking for a caring, committed Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and is looking to develop their experience within a primary school setting. No formal teaching assistant or SEND qualification is required, but candidates must have at least 3 months' experience working with children in the UK.
You will provide support across the school, including within the SEN unit, working closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils engage with learning and develop their confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
- Support children with additional needs both within the mainstream classroom and SEN unit.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and the delivery of engaging lessons.
- Encourage pupils to participate in learning and support them with classroom tasks.
- Help promote pupils' confidence, independence and social development.
- Observe pupils' progress and share relevant feedback with teachers and other staff.
Role Requirements:
- At least 3 months' experience working with children in the UK - this could include experience in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or a similar setting.
- A genuine interest in supporting children with SEND and helping them succeed.
- A patient, caring and positive approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- No formal qualifications are required for this unqualified position.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- The ability to commute to Enfield.
