Cover Supervisor - Temporary Position

Full-Time | All-Through School | Enfield

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA or education professional looking for your next school-based opportunity?

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive all-through school in Enfield that is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis..

This role would suit someone with previous classroom or youth-support experience who can confidently manage a class, maintain high expectations and ensure students remain focused and engaged in the absence of their usual teacher.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise classes across the school during teacher absences and deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
  • Build professional and positive relationships with students and maintain positive behaviour and clear classroom expectations.
  • Support pupils with their learning and encourage participation.
  • Work with students with a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
  • Respond calmly and confidently to behaviour challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and the wider school team.
  • Support break and lunchtime supervision.
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive school environment.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous UK experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.
  • Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Youth Worker or similar.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • The confidence to establish clear boundaries and maintain high expectation and is calm, consistent and has a positive approach to behaviour management.
  • The ability to follow lesson plans and deliver pre-set work effectively.An understanding of SEND and inclusive practice (experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD or SEMH is desirable.)
  • A reliable, professional and team-focused approach.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' wellbeing, engagement and progress.
