Envision Education is currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Teacher with Sixth Form experience to join an all-through specialist school for children and young people aged 2-19. This is a long-term, full-time position, with the school looking to trial suitable candidates next week.
The school specialises in supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and social communication needs, providing a highly supportive and individualised learning environment. We are looking for a confident and passionate SEND Teacher who can engage and inspire Sixth Form students while adapting teaching to meet a range of individual needs and abilities.
The successful candidate will have experience working with post-16/Sixth Form students and ideally have experience teaching young people with autism or other additional needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Sixth Form students with SEND.
- Support young people with Autism and social communication needs.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Develop pupils' independence, confidence, communication and life skills.
- Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.
- Create individualised and accessible learning opportunities.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other support staff within the classroom.
- Collaborate with therapists, SEND professionals and the wider school team.
- Maintain a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students in preparing for adulthood, further education and greater independence.
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour and school policies at all times.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
- Previous Sixth Form/Post-16 teaching experience is essential.
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and social communication needs is particularly advantageous.
- QTS or a relevant recognised teaching qualification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of differentiated and personalised teaching approaches.
- Confident managing a classroom and working alongside support staff.
- Patient, adaptable and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
